History of Nameri National Park

Nameri National Park was once a part of the territory of the ancient kingdoms of the Ahoms and the Bodos. The region has a history of indigenous tribes, including the Bodo community, who have lived in harmony with the natural surroundings for centuries. Nameri National Park is also a part of the “Project Elephant” initiative, which is aimed at conserving and protecting elephants and their habitats. They are one of the ethnic groups that call Majuli the largest river island in the world. In addition, the entire Majuli region is home to numerous Missing communities. But when fishing, they always adhere to a system. These people always hunt in a planned, orderly manner so that adequate time can be allowed for the fish to spawn, as opposed to overpopulation and haphazard fishing.

Bhalukpong

The Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh contains the small town of Bhalukpong, which is situated near the Himalayas’ southernmost ranges in the West Kameng district. Located 213 m above sea level, the settlement is 100 km from Bomdila, 52 km from Tezpur, and 5 km from Tipi. The Bhalukpong Circle’s administrative center is located along the Kameng River.     SUMMER SEASON

    (April – June)
