Bera Jawai National Park

Bera Jawai, also known as the “Leopard Expanse of India,” is located in the Aravalli Mountains in the Pali district of Rajasthan. Wildlife enthusiasts are drawn to the Leopard Safari in the Jawai Bandh (Dam) area, constructed across the Jawai River. In this region of Rajasthan, leopards and people coexist. You can watch nature’s power and beauty while spotting animals with any specific activity. In addition, many nations and international organizations have recently emphasized “ecotourism” to raise public awareness of the value of protecting wildlife. You can experience wildlife in a different setting and get closer to the tribes that have resided in nearby wilderness areas for decades thanks to Jawai Bandh Safari, which provides various options.

Quick Fact

The population of leopards living in the hills of Jawai is approx 50 to 60. It is believed that there is a 99% chance of sighting the leopards when on a safari, which makes this place a major attraction in Rajasthan.

History of Bera Jawai National Park

As stated, Jawai Leopard Reserve surrounds Jawai Bandh. This place was given reserve status on February 23, 2010, when the Rajasthan government issued a decree supporting it. Animal and plant life abound in Jawai. However, if you’re a wildlife fan, there needs to be a better location to see various animals and migrating bird species. The Jawai Dam, which spans over the Jawai River, provides a breathtaking perspective of the river. Historically, Maharaja Umaid Singh of Jodhpur began construction on May 12, 1946, and was completed in 1957. With a total size of 102,315 acres, it is the largest dam in western Rajasthan. The dam is 61.25 feet (18.67 meters) tall and has a 7887.5 million cubic foot capacity.
