On day 2 of the Tamil Nadu tour, after breakfast, leave your hotel for a city tour. The list of attractions that you cover during the sightseeing includes the Theosophical Society, Sri Parthasarathy Temple, Kalakshetra, the St. Mary’s Church, Kapaleeswarar Temple, San Thomas Cathedral Basilica, Mylapore, Fort St. George and the Secretariat and Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu. Post sightseeing, the evening is at ease. At night, retreat to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Kamakshi Amman

On the 3rd day, after breakfast, check out and leave for Kanchipuram by road. Today, Kanchipuram is an important place where people come to gain knowledge about Jainism, Hinduism, and Buddhism.

Visit the city’s famous temples such as Kamakshi Amman temple, Ekambareswarar temple, etc. Also, visit the silk weavers of the town, residing here for the past four centuries. After that, continue towards Mahabalipuram. On arrival, complete the check-in formalities at the hotel, and the day is at leisure. Have dinner and an overnight stay.

Krishna Mandapam

Today, after breakfast, the day is scheduled for sightseeing in Mahabalipuram. Also known as Mamallapuram, it has been the ancient port of the Pallava rulers.

One such attraction you will visit today includes Krishna Mandapam, dedicated to Lord Krishna; it is the world’s largest cave-cut Hindu temple. The other attraction will be the Shore Temple, which dates back to the 8th century and is one of the finest examples of the Dravidian style of architecture.

The last attraction of the day is the Five (Paanch) Rathas. Also called the Paandava Rathas is a group of 5 monolithic temples, each erected in a different architectural style. Post sightseeing, return back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, complete the check-out formalities and get an assisted transfer to Pondicherry by car. On reaching, check into the hotel, and the rest of the day is free for you to partake in the activities of your interest.

Sacred Heart Church

Wake up, have breakfast, and get all set for sightseeing in Pondicherry. The attractions that you visit include the Sacred Heart Church. Apart from being a religious site, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is an oriental specimen of Gothic architecture.

The other attraction, Raj Niwas, is the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor of Pondicherry. The last attraction of the day is Sri Aurobindo Ashram; this spiritual community is flocked by a vast number of visitors all around the year. Return back to the hotel for dinner and stay overnight.

Thillai Nataraja Temple

On day 7, after breakfast, complete the check-out formalities and get all set to leave for Thanjavur by car. En route halt at Chidambaram to visit Chidambaram Temple, which is also known as Thillai Nataraja Temple; it has a distinct feature of 5 sabhas. Thereafter, continue to Tanjore. On arrival in Tanjore, check in at your pre-booked hotel and unwind. The rest of the day is for sightseeing in Tanjore, including the well-known Brihadeeswarar Temple.

Return to the hotel for dinner and stay overnight.

The morning of day 8 after breakfast is for an assisted on-road transfer to Trichy or Tiruchirappalli. As you reach Trichy and complete the check-in formalities, you are free to spend the day as per your liking.

You can explore the surroundings and the nearby attractions, visit the local market to shop for souvenirs, interact with the locals, or relish local food. Retreat to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple

Day 9 of the Complete Tamil Nadu Tour after breakfast is scheduled for visiting the prime attractions of Trichy. The first visit is to Srirangam; here, you visit Sri Ranganathaswamy temple, which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and boasts one of India’s largest temple complexes. Your next visit is to the Tiruchirapalli Rock Fort, placed on the banks of the River Kaveri. Post visiting the prime locations, make your way back to the hotel for dinner and stay overnight.

On the 10th day, after breakfast, pack your bags, complete the check-out formalities, and leave by road for Madurai, also famed as the Athens of the East. As you arrive, check-into the hotel and unwind. The rest of the day is at leisure, you can partake in the activities of your interest. Visit the local market to indulge in shopping, relish local food, or interact with locals. At night, have dinner and stay overnight.

Meenakshi Amman Temple

Rise, have breakfast, and get ready to visit the prime attractions of Madurai. Visit the splendid Meenakshi-Sundareswarar Temple or Meenakshi Amman Temple. This magnificent temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva. Then, the afternoon is at leisure. Attend the evening prayer ceremony at the Meenakshi Temple. Further, make your way back to the hotel for dinner and stay overnight.

Rameshwaram temple

Post breakfast, the day is reserved for a day trip to Rameshwaram to visit the Rameshwaram temple. If history is to be believed, the island and the temple got their names from the event when Lord Rama worshiped Lord Shiva to gain penance when he was coming from Lanka after killing Ravana. Seek blessings from the almighty. Afterward, return back to the hotel for dinner and stay overnight.

This morning, have breakfast, pack your luggage, and complete the check-out formalities. Then, get an assisted transfer to the railway station and board a train for Chennai. As you reach Chennai, get transferred to the pre-booked hotel, complete the check-in formalities, and relax. You can spend the rest of the day at your discretion. At night, have dinner and stay overnight.

Today is the last day of the complete Tamil Nadu tour. After breakfast, pack your luggage and complete the check-out formalities. Then, you’ll get transferred to the airport to board your flight back home.
