Fateh Sagar Lake History:
This lake was built in 1888 by the great Maharana Fateh Singh, he built an 800-meter long dam to protect the lake from floods. Hence to honor the Maharaja for his generosity the lake was named after him.The Fateh Sagar Lake has three small islands.
City Place Udaipur is perched on the hilltop and situated on the eastern bank of the Lake Pichola. This palace takes almost 400 years to complete and they were built by 76 generations of the Mewar Dynasty. The successors of Maharana Uday Singh makes this palace more splendid and they added several structures to it. The City Palace houses forts, Mahals, courtyards, pavilions, corridors, terraces, a large number of rooms, and hanging gardens. These forts are interlinked with each other through narrow passages, gardens, courtyards, and zig-zag pathways.

The LakePichola in Udaipur is one of the oldest and largest lakes in Udaipur. This city is also popularly known as “Kashmir of Rajasthan”.
Lake Pichola was built in the year of 1362 AD and it gets its name from the nearby village of Pichola. There are plenty of places to visit nearby the lake and we promise that you won’t regret your visit here. Lake Pichola is huge in its dimensions measuring 3 miles in length and 2 miles in width. This lake is 30 feet deep and has four islands named as Jag Mandir, Mohan Mandir, Jag Niwas, and Arsi Vilas. Maharana Udai Singh laid the foundation of Udaipur on the banks of Lake Pichola and built a dam which helped in expanding the boundaries of the lake.
The City Palace showcases opulent beauty and an aesthetically pleasing blend of remarkable Rajput and Mughal architecture. This castle is decked with striking carvings, intricately designed arches and ornamental pillars and will take your breath away with its scenic surroundings.
