Start your tour by visiting the Jewish Synagogue which is a meeting house of the Jews since 1568, the year it was built. This is also a silent witness of the colonial history of Cochin. If you want to get an insight into the old colonial world, wander around the streets of the Jewish town. Visit the charming shops around Synagogue Lane where you can explore the antiques, vintage collectibles, Kerala arts products, and aromatic spices.
Next, visit the Mattancherry Palace also known as Dutch Palace. Admire this heritage site famous for the Mural of the kingdom of Kerala. This palace has been taken care of by the Archeological Society of India. The gallery of the palace displays the weapons, furniture, coins, and other items that were used by the Royal family of Kochi. It gives us a glimpse of the royal lifestyle of the royal family.
Hill Palace Museum is one of the largest Archeological Museum in Kerala. The complex houses the archeological museum, heritage museum, a deer park, pre-historic park, and children's park. This complex consists of 49 buildings in the traditional style.
Chinese fishing nets are a unique fishing method where the fishing nets are fixed to the land and hang high in the sky creating an amazing view over the glittering water during the sunset.
