Ulsoor Lake is situated in the northeast of the Bangalore city close to the MG Road. The lake was constructed by Kempe Gowda in the second century. The construction of the lake is in the Dravidian style. Kempe Gowda also started to build the city of Bengaluru. The lake belongs to the times of Kempe Gowda, but the existing lake was revamped by Sir Lewis Bentham Bowring, who was the then Commissioner of Bangalore. Spanning over 1.5 sq. km, there are several small islands on the lake. During August and September, the Ganesh festival is celebrated at the Ulsoor lake Bangalore on a large scale. 

The Lake was earlier known as Halsur or Alasur. There is also a campus near the lake, where you can enjoy swimming. Along with it is the Gurudwara place near the lake, which is one of the biggest places of the Sikh religion in Bangalore. Boating in the lake is quite a popular attraction. You can also visit some of the islands riding on the boat in the Ulsoor lake Bangalore. The total water area of the lake is 1.5 sq. km and it is watered through three rivulets. This lake is being maintained very well. MG road Ulsoor is with the lake itself. However, only a metro railway is being planned.

Located at the Halasuru village, close to the M. G. Road, this lake is often visited by people all around the year for jogging, also tourists who love to go for a boat ride. 

The Ulsoor lake Bangalore is dotted with innumerable species of flora and fauna. Different kinds of beautiful bird species can be spotted on the lake. Ulsoor Lake is full of lush green bushes all around. The bushes consist of beautiful wildflowers in several colors. It is a visual treat to see different species of butterflies and insects in large numbers flying around everywhere. There are fountains at the lake which are lit up at a particular time and are a pleasure to watch.
