Bangaram Island can be reached from the nearest Island of Agatti where the archipelago’s only airstrip is located. Agatti is also the capital of the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, and this group of islands belongs to the Indian sub-continent. The closest land contact is Kochi port on the West coast of Kerala in South India, from where regular flights take visitors to the Islands. Although Bangaram is the main Island with a very small population, the South Bangaram Cay is also a part of the atoll with another larger island of Thinnakara where a new resort is being constructed.

The Raja of Cannannore left the shores of Kerala and a search party was sent after him. While searching for him, they accidentally landed on the island of Bangaram and Agatti. So Bangaram was one of the first islands to be discovered in the archipelago. Since 1956, after Indian Independence, the Islands got the status of Union Territory and came to be known as Lakshadweep from 1973.

Between October and March, the climate in the islands is very pleasant and ideal for visitors to have the best holiday experience. Contact us with your holiday requirements and we will tailor a lovely Bangaram Island holiday package exclusively for you!
