The Trayambakeshwar Temple in Rishikesh is a tall thirteen storied temple. The temple is situated across the unmissable Lakshman Jhula on the banks of river Ganga. It is one of the most significant landmarks in the city of Rishikesh. Inside the temple there are idols of Hindu gods and goddesses. It was in the 12th century AD that Shri Adi Guru Shankaracharya ji founded the temple. It is a great site to see the emerald waters of the river Ganga, the water appears serene and calm when looked from the top most floor of the temple.

The Trayambakeshwar Temple in Rishikesh has a pyramid shape and the idol of lord Shiva is on the pinnacle. The design of the temple is done in such a way that you end up covering most of the idols on the way up, hence you can take the blessings while reaching to the top. The temple is otherwise known as Tera Manzil Mandir. It is dedicated in the name of the patron deity “Triambakeshwar”, also called as the three eyed gods.

On the way up there are a number of small chambers consisting of several gods such as Vishnu, Ram, Kali, Durga, Saraswati, and Hanuman and, many more. There is only one way to climb the stairs up and down. One of the best things at the TrayambakeshwarTemple in Rishikeshis that there are no queues and you don’t have to spend time standing for hours. Best time to visit the Trayambakeshwar temple in Rishikesh is in the summers between April and June. There are occasional rains at this time which makes the climate a lot cooler. There are a smaller number of tourists during this time than any other season.
