Agra is home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Also, there are numerous tourist attraction like historical places, monuments, mausolem (makbara) in Agra. This red sandstone structure is a perfect example of the Mughal style of architecture. The Fatehpur Sikri is the third heritage site near the city. This is one of the famous tourist attractions near Agra. The entrance gate of Fatehpur Sikri from the side of Jama Masjid is known as Buland Darwaza, which means ‘Gate of Victory’. It was constructed by Akbar after his victory on Gujrat. Buland Darwaza is the highest gateway in the world. Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chishti, and Jodha Bai’s Palace are other famous establishments situated in the premises of the Fatehpur Sikri.

Agra Tourist places include Itimad-Ud-Daulah’s Tomb, Mehtab Bagh, Tomb of Akbar - the Great, and Guru ka Tal. Itimad-Ud-Daulah’s Tomb is also popularly known as ‘Baby Taj’ as it resembles Taj Mahal. This mausoleum is built of yellow marble and is the finest example of Indo-Islamic architecture. Tomb of Akbar - the Great is an architectural marvel and as the name suggests it is a mausoleum of the emperor which was designed by himself. This magnificent structure is made up of sandstone and white marble. Agra sightseeing places also include Taj Museum, Chini Ka Rauza, Anguri Bagh, Sikandra Fort, Jahangir Palace, and Moti Masjid.

The famous shopping destinations in Agra are Sadar Bazaar, Sarafa Bazaar, Kinari Bazaar, and Subhash Bazaar. One can buy traditional clothes, footwear, spices, marble products, handicrafts from here. Other places to visit nearby Agra are Mathura, Vrindavan, and Delhi.
