Madurai Airport is 174 km far away from Rameshwaram that means it takes around 3 hours and 15 minutes to reach there. Another nearest airport is Tuticorin Airport. The distance between Rameshwaram and Tuticorin Airport is around 189 km that covers the whole journey within 3 hours and 10 mins through NH 49 and E Coast Rd. Both airports are quite closer to this pilgrimage site and visitors can easily reach there by hiring taxis or cabs.

So, the bus stand makes this place easily accessible by bus from other nearby cities such as Kanyakumari, Trichy, Chennai, and Madurai, etc. Tamil Nadu Road Transport Corporation provides daily bus service that connects Rameshwaram with other cities of this state. Similarly, bus service operates daily from Tirupati to Rameshwaram by the Andra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation.
