Udaipur leaves the tourists spellbound with its mesmerizing beauty. There are charming lakes and each of the cliffs in and around the city has a magnificent fort. You can visit two famous islands in Lake Pichola Jag Niwas and Jagmandir. Another architectural marvel on the bank of Lake Pichola is Jag Mandir.  The temple is famous for its beautiful interiors and grand style of architecture. The majestic view of the lake from the palace and intricate sculptures on the marbles attracts the tourists. Famous for serene boat rides and the grand solitude of the temple, Jag Mandir is one of the best Udaipur tourist places.

The Lake Pichola is also surrounded by many beautiful temples and one of the most visited temples is the Jagdish Temple. This Temple was built by Maharana Jagat Singh in the Indo-Aryan style. Located near the Badi Pol entrance of the City Palace, the temple has elephant-flanked steps through which you can reach the top. The temple is dedicated to lord Vishnu and he is worshiped here in the name of Jagannath. The idol of lord Vishnu has been carved from black stone and you can also see a brass image of Vishnu’s vehicle Garuda in the main temple. Besides the main temple, there are many small temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the Sun God, Goddess Shakti, and Lord Shiva. Every day Aarti takes place during the sunrise and the sunset that attracts a large number of devotees.

The royals of Rajasthan were really fond of nature and the Monsoon Palace proves that.  Built by Maharana Sajjan Singh of Mewar Dynasty, The Monsoon Palace was formerly known as the Sajjangarh Palace. The fort was built, basically, to enjoy the view of the floating clouds in the sly. It offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and stunning sunsets on the distant horizon. You can also reach the Sajjangarh Wildlife sanctuary that needs one day trek from the palace.

In Udaipur, there are many places where you can witness the archeological importance of the royal state and Ahar is one of such places. It was built as a burial ground for the royal family and is a popular udaipur tourist spot. The memorial site also includes an archaeological museum, which has a great collection of monuments dating back the 10th-century. 

There are many sites nearby Udaipur that are equally attractive. Kumbhalgarh Fort is an architectural wonder located about 64 km from the city of Udaipur. The fort undoubtedly among the most magnificent forts in Rajasthan. It is located 1900 meters high above the sea level with a protective wall stretched over 30 km of length. The panoramic view from the fort makes it one of the best Udaipur sightseeing points.

If you like to spend some time in a beautiful garden in the city, head to Saheliyon-Ki-Bari. It is a large, beautiful garden located in the north of Udaipur. Built by Raja Sangram Singh this garden palace is famous for its vast land decorated with pleasant lotus pool, marble elephants, excellent architecture, and fountains. Located by the Fateh Sagar Lake, this garden is also famous for its lush green lawns and marble art amidst the dry state of Rajasthan.
