The distance of Bhimashankar is around 240 km from Mumbai, 125 km from Pune, and 215 km from Nasik. Regular taxis and rickshaw services also operate on this route. A six-seater Tum-Tum (rickshaw) is available from Karjat for the tourists as well as avail the facility of shared taxis or cabs which usually waits to be filled by at least nine passengers and it is comparatively cheap.
Bhimashankar does not have its own airport. The nearest airport of Bhimashankar is the Pune airport. It is well constructed and connected to prominent cities and states of India through airlines like Indigo, Air India, Kingfisher, Go Air, Jet Airways and Air India Express, etc. Tourists can easily hire a cab or taxi from the airport to reach Bhimashankar. The journey takes roughly two and a half hours to reach there from Pune airport.
Bhimashankar is easily and quickly accessible via a good network of roads. The authorities run several bus and taxi services between Bhimashankar and nearby cities. It is the most convenient option for tourists if they want to travel from neighboring cities. Also, the travelers select between a plethora of bus operators according to their budget.
There is no railway station in Bhimashankar. The closest railway station is Karjat station and the distance between Bhimashankar and the station is 168 km that takes two hours to reach here. The Karjat station is connected to numerous cities via direct and indirect trains. From the railway station, people can hire a bus or rickshaw which is also known as tum-tum. The second nearest railway station is the Pune railway station at the distance of 111 km from Bhimashankar. Pune railway station is attached to major cities like Lucknow, New Delhi, Puri, Mysore, Jaipur, and Chennai via Gandhi Dham Express, Mumbai Mail, Pune Shatabdi, Udyan Express, and many more.
