Being called the heart of India, Madhya Pradesh is famous for its scenic beauty, historical monuments, beautiful hills, and forts. One of the most beautiful and magnificent forts of India, which is not famous only for its artwork, but also for its intricate carvings, and magnificent monuments which are a part of this fort.
Construction of this magnificent fort was done in 1501 AD. By King Rudra Pratap Singh. The fort consists of both the mansion and the temple inside the fort. The Raj Mahal and Ram Temple within the fort were founded by Raja Madhukar Singh, who were ruled here from 1554 to 1591. This fort is located in Orchha in Tikamgarh district which is in one of the most beautiful places of India Madhya Pradesh.
The fort is located within an island formed by the Betwa River and Jani River. To the east of this fort, a market is situated in which a 14-arch bridge is built with stone stones. Orchha is about 80 km from the town of Tikamgarh. It is only 15 km from Jhansi. The fort is standing on the island formed by the intersection of the Betav River and the Jaamini River.
The Raja Mahal, inside the fort, was built at the beginning of the sixteenth century. But by 1783 AD the Kings and the Queens had already left the palace. Raja Mahal in this fort is built on ancient Orchha architecture. The walls of the palace are painted with pictures of the gods and goddesses, ancient animals and images of people.
The Raja Mahal has been built in such a way that it looks very attractive, the idols of Lord Vishnu have been carved on its inner walls. There have been many saying that the Palace consists of several secret passages.
The Sheesh Mahal in the premises of the fort, which is adjoining to the other two forts, this royal palace was built for Raja Udhat Singh. The Sheesh Mahal has a high and carved hall inside the palace, and the palace has currently been converted into a hotel to which a large number of visitors come here to experience th3e grandeur of this majestic place.
The most famous fort, the Jahangir Palace was built in 1605 by Bir Singh Dev. It was built for the Mughal emperor Jahangir, who has arrived as a guest of the king only for 1 night. The architecture of the Jahangir Mahal displays the perfect amalgamation of Muslim and Rajput styles, which is a square structure, has eight massive domes. Jahangir Mahal is a 2 storied building with a large number of arched rooms, the stage for dancers, netted windows, paintings, and a small archeological museum.
The fort's most beautiful part is the flower garden which is a reasonably well-built garden, with water fountains which terminate in the "Castle-pavilion", and includes 08 pillars.
