Hindola Mahal Mandu History
The famous Hindola Mahal also known as Swinging Palace which is located in Mandu, a town in Madhya Pradesh. It was constructed during the reign of Hoshang Shah. The plan of Hindola Mahal Mandu is a T-shaped, through an examination of the exterior walls leads to the conclusion that the crossbar was added later. It was built to accommodate a large audience. The innovative structure of the sculpture combined with the superb technique attracts thousands of tourists to pay a visit every year.
Hindola Mahal was constructed from sandstone with exquisitely carved columns with the provision of hot and cold water connected with the rooms situated underground. The entry in the monument is chargeable, even a special arrangement is done for light and sound show. The best part is that the structure has a rainwater harvesting technique which makes it unique.
Architecture Information
Hindola Mahal Mandu is one of the architectural marvels which have unique sloping sidewalls. This T-shaped building has six arched openings on both sides of the halls above which there are windows with beautiful tracery work to allow air and light inside the palace. The colorful tiles and exteriors of the temple are neatly chiseled which is the main attraction of the palace.

Hindola Mahal is a Fort Complex situated in the ruined city of Mandu. This swinging palace has been built in 1425 C.E.

The nearest railway station from the Hindola Mahal Mandu is the Indore Junction BG Train Station which is located at a distance of 98 km. The nearest airport is the Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport, Indore which is at a distance of 60 km from the palace. One can avail the cab or taxi from the respective place for the Mandu and from here the one can easily reach the Hindola Mahal At the location itself, it is best to drive around in your vehicle or to rent a scooter. The place is well connected with the road facility which helps the tourists to visit the place.
Best time to visit Hindola Mahal
One can visit this palace throughout the year but the best time to visit is during the October to April when the weather remains pleasant and comfortable for the exploration tour of this palace. During the summers, the city experiences scorching heat which makes the excursion during the day time almost impossible. While the winters can cause inconvenience during the sightseeing tour.

The entry fees for indian tourist is INR 5 per person and for Foreigner tourist is INR 100 per person and the cost of the tickets for the student tourist is Free (only have to show Identification Card).
