The airport of Leh Ladakh is the Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport which is located in Leh City. This airport is well-connected to Jammu, Delhi, Srinagar, Mumbai, Chandigarh, and several other cities of the country. Leh Airport has situated 5 km from Leh city. Outside the airport, the visitors can hire a taxi or cab to explore the popular places of Leh Ladakh.

If the travelers do not want to board flight for reaching there, they can reach Srinagar or Manali via buses, trains, and cars. After that, people can catch a cab or a bus from Srinagar or Manali that takes them directly to Leh. The route between Manali and Leh is well-known as one of the most pristine and picturesque routes in the world. Most of the travelers cover this delightful route on their motorbikes especially on Royal Enfield because the terrain of this route is a bit bumpy. Even, the cycle enthusiasts cover this scenic route over their bicycles.

There are two different routes available for them which lead to Leh Ladakh – one from Manali to Leh and the other from Srinagar to Leh. The Srinagar-Leh Highway route is one of the lesser-used routes to visit Leh and this route covers a distance of almost 434 km. On the other hand, the Manali-Leh Highway Route is the most preferred route by the travelers. This route is not only a convenient route but also this route offers amazing sightseeing opportunities to tourists. The total distance of this route is around 490 km.

The tourists can hire a private taxi or can share a taxi as per their convenience. It is the best option for hiring a taxi because the local drivers have more experience in driving via the rocky terrain.

This region has not its own railway station because this hilly city is situated at a very remote location along with minimal resources. The closest railway station of Leh Ladakh is Jammu Tawi which is around 700 km far away from it. The Jammu Tawi Railway Junction is well-connected with the major cities of India like Kolkata, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and many more. People can hire a taxi or catch a bus till Leh which is not a very convenient option.
