Thazhathangady Juma Masjid is recorded as one of the Heritage Zones and is situated in a community close to Kottayam, Thazhathangady. This masjid or the mosque is an antiquated one, existing for over a thousand years. This age-old mosque is a 1,000-year-old. The Thazhathangady Juma Masjid is prominently known for its lavish compositional structure and its complicated wood carvings. The mosque is frequently alluded by the name "Taj Juma Masjid". It is said that the creators of this masjid hail from different locales of Kerala. Situated at a distance of around 7 km from Kottayam, Thazhathangady Masjid lies on the banks of the Meenachil stream close to the Thiruverpu Temple. This spot is the must-visit travel destination for you when you are holidaying in Kumarakom.

An old mosque located on the banks of the Meenachil River in Kottayam, Juma Masjid at Thazhathangadi is a structural wonder, as stated above. Accepted to be too old, it is viewed as perhaps the most established mosque in India.
