How to Reach Alleppey

You cannot fly directly to Alleppey as there is no flight connectivity. Take a flight for Kochi Airport which is the nearest airport to Alleppey, It is at a distance of 60 km from the city. You can hire a taxi or cab after you land at Kochi airport.

One can easily get the bus to the Alleppey from any major city of Kerala. The government operated buses are fairly cheaper, but there are also expensive buses that offer luxury. You can enjoy the picturesque views while traveling through the road. A large number of government and private buses ply from several cities such as Chennai, Cochin, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Mysore, Bangalore, and Coimbatore to Alleppey. You can also take a taxi or cab on a sharing basis and reach Alleppey.

Alappuzha railway station is the main station that has the connectivity from Alleppey to all the major cities of India via railways. You can take a train to reach Alleppey from cities like Cochin, Chennai, Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram, Bangalore, Mumbai, Coimbatore, New Delhi, Kolkata and Mangalore as many trains are plying to Alleppey.

One can reach Alleppey by the water. Drop your anchor at Kozhikode, Trivandrum, Bangalore or Chennai. Trivandrum is well connected by waterways from the major ports and Alleppey is well-linked with several places of Kerala by the waterways. From Kottayam, Kumarakom, and Kovalam one can take the ferry to go to Alleppey.
