How to Reach Mysore

Mysore does not have any international airports but it is connected to many domestic airlines and cities. It is easy to reach Mysore from Delhi by air as it has many direct flights. Mandakalli Airport is located at a distance of 11 kilometers from the city of Mysore, it is a domestic airport. If you are flying international, you can take a flight to Bangalore International Airport which is at a distance of approx.190 kilometers. You can find many low-cost carriers that fly to Mysore from almost every major city.

The roadway is also a great way to travel in India as it is connected to many places. However, for long distances, it is not advisable. You can, however, reach Mysore from Kochi or other South Indian cities. Mysore is over 8 hours away from Kochi and you can find many private and government buses. You can also hire a taxi if you want a more relaxing ride. Most of the cities in India provide car rental services as well if you wish to experience driving on the Indian roads.

The major railway station of the city is the Mysore Junction which is a part of the South Western Railway. This junction touches every state around India conveniently connecting Mysore to many major cities. It is ideal to reach Mysore from Chennai and other South Indian cities such as Bangalore since you can find many trains that travel to Mysore frequently. It is easy to navigate through Mysore Junction, also, since the station is located within the city, every markets and attraction and even hotels are easily accessible.
