Dr. Karni Singhji Road, Bikaner- 334001, Rajasthan, India

Overview

Once a poet had beautifully written, “If ever beauty has bloomed in a desert, it has been at Bikaner”. Situated in the north-western part of the Indian state of Rajasthan, Bikaner was founded in 1488 AD by Rao Bika Ji. Many folklores and myths have been woven around this city of camels.

The Junagarh Fort, Lalgarh Palace, old Havelis and unique Red Temple are some of the bearers of the reminiscences of bygone era in Bikaner. Bearing the old charm and allure of Bikaner, the Laxmi Niwas Palace hotel is among the top notch lodges in the city.

Built in the Indo-Saracenic style, this palace has a history more than 100 years old. Sir Swinton Jacob, the then Chief Engineer of Jaipur state turned Maharaja Ganga Singhji’s vision into a reality in the form of Laxmi Niwas Palace.

The marble courtyard, bravura halls, anterooms, colonnaded corridors, canopied balconies decorated with intricate gold works, lattice work in stone and wood create an aesthetic ambience in the palace. Without disturbing the old architecture, some parts of the hotel had been modernized to make it all the more a pleasant to its guests.
