Itinerary Details

On your arrival in Ahmedabad, drive straight to Dasada. When you reach Dasada, check in at the hotel, freshen up and spend the afternoon leisurely. In the evening you will go for a safari at the Little Rann of Kutch. This small desert in Kutch is a salt marsh. Though a bleak landscape, it is famous for the Indian Wild Ass. The place is rich in biodiversity and is an ecologically important area for wildlife and many local and migratory birds like cranes, ducks, pelicans, flamingos, sandgrouse, francolins and the Indian bustards. Cherish amazing sunset views and birdwatching at the Bajana Lake and Nalsarovar Bird Sanctuary respectively.

Spend the night at the hotel at Dasada.

Next day, early in the morning, head to the Little Rann to indulge in the wildlife safari. The Little Rann of Kutch is a unique place on the earth with an unending possibility of exploration, numerous sites for unbelievable sights and unforgettable experiences. Once done with the enthralling activity, head to the Gir National Park.

Upon arrival at the Gir, check-in at a forest lodge or resort for an overnight stay.

After the breakfast, you will delve into the Sasan Gir Jungle Safari all day long. The large geographical area is home to the majestic royal king the 'Lion'. Gir is the only place where one can spot the Asiatic Lions roaming freely in the wild. It covers a total area of 1412 square kilometers of which 258 km forms the core area of the National Park. Gir's forested hilly terrain makes it a favored habitat for the jackals, antelope, leopards and deer that also live there. It's home to crocodiles and over 300 species of resident birds as well.

Later head back to the lodge to spend the night comfortably.

Day 4 and 5 of the Wildlife Safari in Gujarat tour keeps you busy with the sightseeing of the wildlife dwelling in the park. You will spot the big cats if you are lucky and there are also other exotic animals to have a glance at. You can also visit Devaliya, a special area for lions. It is also known as the Gir Interpretation Zone. The Devaliya Safari Park is an enclosed area in the sanctuary that offers a good opportunity for visitors to experience the rustic beauty and wilderness of the area.

The safari tour is conducted in a minibus that takes visitors to across Gir. Travelers can watch here a good variety of wildlife including Asiatic Lion during a tour of just 20 to 30 minutes. Enjoy walking amidst the natural habitat or delight in birdwatching. You can also opt to visit the very popular Somnath temple, Ahilya temple and Sun temple.

Somnath Temple: the first of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva. The temple has been mentioned in ancient texts like Shreemad Bhagavat Gita, Skandpuran, Shivpuran and Rig-Veda which signifies the importance of this holy site as one of the most celebrated pilgrimage sites.

Ahilya Temple: As per common beliefs, Ahilyabai Temple contains the original Jyotirlinga which was hidden here suspecting raids at the Somnath Temple in the future. However, the history of both the temples closely interlinked.

Sun Temple: - The magnificent Sun Temple stands out as the pride of Gujarat. It features the splendid craftsmanship of Solanki architectural style.

Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, leave for Sayla. It is called `Bhagat-no-Gaum' or the village of the pilgrims since it is adorned with a number of Hindu and Jain Temples and spiritual centers. Sayla is the headquarters of the world-famous spiritual organization, Shree Raj Saubhag Ashram. When you arrive at Sayla, check-in at the hotel and relax for a while. Afterward, head to the site where a huge herd of blackbuck antelopes can be spotted.

Return to the hotel and stay there overnight.

After the breakfast, get ready for enthralling birdwatching at the Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary. The largest wetland bird sanctuary welcomes migratory birds in the winter and summer. Over 210 species of birds flock the lake in winters. (Note: Boat ride is subjected to weather conditions). After lunch, head back to Ahmedabad airport to board a flight for the journey back home.
