Wake up early in the morning and head towards Tiger Hill. Visitors come here to see the mesmerizing sunrise views. Here, they will see the sun rising from the mountains which is followed by a panoramic view of the majestic peaks of Kanchenjunga. It is the highest point in Darjeeling and is situated at an elevation of 8482 above the sea level.
Afterward, go back to Darjeeling. En route, visit Ghoom Monastery which is perched at an altitude of 8000 ft. above sea level and also known as Yogachoeling Gompa. It is the storehouse of some rare Buddhist manuscripts and has become popular amongst people seeking peace and serenity. It offers magnificent views of the snow-capped peaks including Kanchenjunga.
Then, take a ride on a toy train around Batasia Loop. Titled as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the train allows you to enjoy the mesmerizing views of the mountains, delightful surroundings, tea plantations, rare species of plants, etc
After reaching the hotel, have a yummy breakfast and leave to explore the most scenic attractions in Darjeeling. Firstly, you will be visiting the Natural History Museum. It has an exhaustive collection of almost 4300 specimens including rare birds, fishes, reptiles, mammals, insects, etc. It has also the collection of birds' nests and their eggs that are preserved.
Next, move to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute which is one of the prominent mountaineering institutes in the world. The main objective of this institute is to encourage and promote mountaineering amongst youths of the country.
Then, head towards the Parmesan Nadia Himalayan Zoological Park which is the largest high altitude zoo and is also called as the Darjeeling Zoo. It is the home to animals such as blue sheep, sambar deer, barking deer, Himalayan Tahr, musk deer, goral, etc. One can also spot some endangered species like red panda, Tibetan wolf, snow leopard, yaks, Siberian tigers, etc. that are rarely seen anywhere else in the world.
Now, you will be moving to the Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center which is a rehabilitation center for the Tibetan refugees. The main aim of this center is to promote the principle of self-help so as to become self-independent.
Thereafter, take an enchanting ride on a ropeway in Darjeeling. It is India's first cable car system and was set up to reach the tea gardens in the valleys. The gondola moves at a moderate speed allowing tourists to see the mesmerizing views of snow-capped peaks of Himalayas and gives brilliant photo opportunities.
Then, see tea estates in Darjeeling. Tea Estates are spread over seven valleys which cover a majority of the area of the Darjeeling Hills. Here, you can learn about the tea processing technique and take a stroll through the tea gardens, etc.
Now, pay a visit to Peace Pagoda which is a Buddhist stupa and is open for people belonging to any religion. The main purpose of this place to propagate prosperity and peace in the world. This place is well-known for its breathtaking views of snowy peaks, tranquility, pleasant climate, calmness, etc.
At last, see Tensing-Gumbo Rocks. The left face or left side of the Tenzing Rock is used by the professional rock climbers as well as the trainees whereas the right side is used by amateur climbers or tourists climbers. On the other hand, Gombu Rock is quite steep and rises above from the road level. Also, it does not look dangerous like Tenzing Rock.
In the evening, come back to your pre-decided hotel for an overnight stay in Darjeeling.
