Built in the year 1814, this temple rests near the banks of River Yamuna. The deity Lord Krishna is enshrined in the temple. The complex is magnificent and flaunts a remarkable architecture.

Sri Krishna Janambhumi is another revered site where the lord was born. This temple has a history dating back to the 6th-century. This holy landmark was destroyed numerous times throughout history and in 1670 Aurangzeb erected Eidgah at the same place where the temple stands. The newest temple compound was rebuilt in the 20th-century and comprises of Garba Griha Temple, Keshavdeva Temple and the Bhagavad Bhavan. Sri Krishna Janmabhumi is so peaceful that it is the ideal place to embrace the serenity and calmness.

The tour continues to Vishram Ghat, the main Mathura Ghat on the banks of River Yamuna. The traditional parikrama starts and ends here. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Krishna rested here after killing the greedy king Kansa. Other places that you will be exploring include the Gita Mandir which is also dedicated to Shri Krishna. This temple has the preaching of Bhagavad Gita engraved on its walls.

The long day finally ends after visiting the sacred pond, Radha Kund. Here you can witness two adjoining ponds namely the Radha Kund and the Shyam Kund. According to legends, Shri Krishna himself created the massive Shyam Kund by thumping the ground with his heels and Radharani dug the ground with her own hands, hence the Radha Kund was formed.
