The Haryana Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) also operates buses between Delhi and Dharamshala. Cars are also available on rentals for those who want to drive. The Pathankot railway station is the important railway station which is located at a distance of 85 kilometers from Dharamshala. The nearest station is Kangra, at a distance of 14 kilometers from Dharamshala, but not many major trains halt here. One of the popular Dharamshala trains is Kangra Valley Rail Passenger which has stops in Kangra railway station. The nearest major railway station to Dharamshala is in Pathankot, which is well connected to all parts of the country. The Kangra Valley Railway connects Pathankot to Kangra and Joginder Nagar. This is a regular service, which will give you an extremely slow but scenic experience. From the railway station, you can take a bus, taxi or cab to reach Dharamshala.
