However, winter is the most suitable and the best time to visit Kaziranga. It is best to avoid visiting Kaziranga during the monsoon season because of the harsh rain and floods. Summer too is an ideal time to visit but be prepared for strong sunshine and dehydrating climate.
Summertime is hot yet refreshing in Assam. Although spending too much time in the outdoors can be irritating but it is considered off-season so it can be a comfort to the wallet. The ideal time to visit Kaziranga National Park is during the winter. This time of the year is pleasant and suitable to explore the national park without any problems. The air is dry and so is the land. Many outdoor activities open up during this season. The lodges and hotels nearby will be expensive due to many tourists. You can try out different kinds of safaris on an elephant, jeep or canter.
Monsoon in Assam is nice and refreshing, a break from the summers, but not recommended to visit Kaziranga National Park. The national park is closed during this season due to heavy floods in certain areas. It may not be a good time to go to the national park. But for a change of scenario, there are many hill stations around Assam where you can enjoy the rain and the cool weather. The most recommended place to visit during monsoon is Meghalaya.
